Apprentice Progression uses the same benchmarks established for TAFEs and private training providers to train and assess apprentices. We test the evidence they use to make their assessments by checking with you that your apprentice can perform to your expectations, not theirs.

In other words, we make sure your apprentice is workplace competent, not just TAFE competent.

We make sure that you and your apprentice agree they are ready before any wage progression takes place.

If your apprentice is ready, we communicate that to TAFE and your apprentice moves on to the next subject. If they are not ready, we advise the TAFE in writing of where they fall short, and request more time for them to practice skills at work before progressing.
